This policy covers the Helvetalk app (identifier com.helvetalk.app), published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited. It is separate from the privacy policy for navritto.com, which covers the website.
In short: Helvetalk helps you rehearse Switzerland's fide language test entirely on your device. Your settings, your practice progress and your spoken-answer recordings and their transcripts stay on your phone, and nothing you do is uploaded. The app has no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and it is an independent study aid, not affiliated with fide, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) or any Swiss authority. It is free to start, with an optional subscription that is handled by the app store.
1. Who we are
Helvetalk is published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited (“Navritto”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Haryana, India, which is the data controller for the purposes of this policy. Helvetalk is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to fide, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) or any Swiss authority.
2. What Helvetalk collects
Nothing. Navritto runs no server and no account system for Helvetalk, and we do not collect, upload or receive any personal data. Your settings, your practice progress, and your spoken-answer recordings and their transcripts are never sent to Navritto. They stay on your device, apart from your device's own backup (see section 4). The app contains no advertising and no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
Helvetalk does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location or contacts.
3. What the app can access
Microphone
Used only to record your spoken answers in the speaking tasks, and only after you choose to record. Your recordings are saved on your device so you can play them back; they are never uploaded — see “Speaking practice and your voice” below.
Notifications
Used only to send a daily study reminder, if you turn it on, at the time you set. You can turn it off at any time, and the app may re-schedule a pending reminder after your phone restarts so it is not lost.
A network connection
The app's content works fully offline. Helvetalk goes online only through the app store's billing service, to check, complete or restore the optional subscription. Your practice data, recordings and transcripts are never uploaded over this or any connection.
Nothing else
Helvetalk asks for no camera, location, files, photos or contacts access, and it has no account.
4. What is stored on your device
Your settings and progress
Your choices (test language, your goal, test date and reminder) and your practice progress are saved in the app's own storage on your device. They contain no information that identifies you and are never uploaded. On some devices this may be included in the device's own backup so you can restore it on a new phone.
Your recordings and transcripts
Your spoken answers are saved as audio files on your device, with the transcript your phone produced, so you can review them. Only your most recent recordings are kept — older ones are deleted automatically — and they are excluded from the device backup. They are never uploaded.
Whether you have Helvetalk Pro
If you take out the subscription, the fact that you are entitled to it is confirmed with the app store and kept on your device. Navritto runs no server for this.
5. Speaking practice and your voice
When you answer a speaking task out loud, your device records your answer to a local file so you can play it back, and your phone's own speech recognition turns it into text so you can see what you said. Helvetalk does not upload your voice or your transcript, send them to Navritto, or use them for any purpose other than showing you your own practice.
Speech recognition is forced to run on your device: on iPhone it always uses on-device recognition, and on Android the app requests the offline engine and avoids online ones. If your phone has no offline speech model for the language you are practising, Helvetalk shows no transcript rather than sending your voice off the device. How long and how freely you spoke is measured on the phone; Helvetalk never shows a pronunciation score or a predicted exam level.
6. Subscriptions
Helvetalk is free to start, with an optional subscription (“Helvetalk Pro”) that unlocks all the content. The subscription is sold and billed by the app store you installed Helvetalk from, under its own terms and privacy policy; the store handles payment and any renewal, free trial or cancellation. Navritto never sees or stores your payment details, and we run no server to process, validate or track subscriptions — the app store on your device is the source of truth, and you can restore a purchase from the app.
7. Who the data is shared with
No one. Because Helvetalk collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to share or sell, and the app contains no advertising or analytics partners. The app store you installed Helvetalk from handles the subscription and may separately collect installs, purchases and diagnostics under its own privacy policy, over which Navritto has no control.
8. International transfers
Navritto holds no personal data about you, so there is no personal data for us to transfer across borders. Any data handled by the app store in connection with a subscription or install is governed by that store's own privacy policy.
9. Retention and deletion
Navritto stores no personal data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. Everything Helvetalk keeps lives on your device and is under your control.
- Delete your recordings from within the app, or let the app remove older ones automatically.
- Reset your practice progress from within the app.
- Turn the reminder on or off in the app, or revoke microphone or notification permission in your device's settings.
- Uninstalling Helvetalk removes the app and everything it stored on the device.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the GDPR (EEA/UK), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and US state privacy laws — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, and to withdraw consent. Because Navritto holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase; for any question, write to info@navritto.com.
You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority — for example the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland, your supervisory authority in the EEA (Article 77 GDPR), the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Children's privacy
Helvetalk is a general-audience study app for adults preparing for the fide test and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
12. Security
Your practice data and recordings are protected by the same platform security that protects the rest of your device's storage, including device encryption. They are never transmitted. The only connections are the app store's billing service, which checks or completes the subscription over an encrypted connection.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a revised “last updated” date. Material changes will be described clearly.
14. Contact
