This policy covers the Oathpal app (identifier com.oathpal.app), published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited. It is separate from the privacy policy for navritto.com, which covers the website.
In short: Oathpal helps you study for the US citizenship test entirely on your device — your progress and settings stay on your phone, and nothing you do is uploaded. The app has no user accounts and no analytics, and it is an independent study aid, not affiliated with USCIS or any government agency. It is free and supported by advertisements from Google AdMob, so it connects to the internet to fetch those ads; to serve them Google may collect limited data such as an advertising identifier and an approximate location, and where the law requires it you are asked to consent first.
1. Who we are
Oathpal is published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited (“Navritto”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Haryana, India. For the limited advertising data described below, Navritto is the data controller and Google is our advertising partner. Oathpal is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to USCIS or any US government agency.
2. What Oathpal collects
The app itself collects nothing. Navritto runs no server and no account system, and your study progress, your answers, the state and district you choose, and your spoken answers are never sent to us.
The one exception is advertising. Oathpal is free and shows ads supplied by Google AdMob, and to do that the ad component collects some data through Google — see “Advertising” below. Oathpal does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or your immigration details.
3. What the app can access
Microphone
Used only in the mock interview and the spoken-English practice, so you can answer out loud, and only after you choose to speak. Your voice is used to check your answer and is not recorded or kept — see “Your voice” below.
Notifications
Used only to send the one daily study reminder you can turn on, at the time you choose. You can turn it off at any time.
A network connection
Used only to fetch the ads that keep the app free and to complete a purchase if you make one. Your study data is never uploaded over this connection.
Nothing else
Oathpal asks for no camera, location or contacts access, and it has no account.
4. What is stored on your device
Your progress and settings
Your study progress and readiness, the questions you have marked, the state and district you choose, your interview date and reminder, and your preferences (theme, text size, ad-consent choice) are saved in the app's own storage on your device. They contain no information that identifies you and are never uploaded. On some devices this may be included in the device's own backup so you can restore it on a new phone.
Whether you have removed ads
If you buy the ad-free option, the fact that you are entitled to it is checked with the app store and kept on your device. Navritto runs no server for this.
5. Your voice and the mock interview
When you answer out loud, your device's own speech service turns what you say into text so the app can check it against the answer. Oathpal does not record your voice, keep an audio file, or send your speech to Navritto, and nothing you say is used for advertising.
Speech recognition is handled on your device. On some devices, if the offline English speech pack is not installed, your device's built-in speech service (for example the one provided with your phone) may process the audio to transcribe it, under that provider's own privacy policy. You can avoid this by installing the offline pack, or by answering by typing or marking yourself instead of speaking.
6. Advertising
Oathpal is free and supported by advertising from Google AdMob (Google’s mobile ads service). Ads appear at natural breaks — never next to the answer buttons during a question. Every study feature is free; a purchase only removes the ads.
To serve these ads, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process — as a separate data controller — a device advertising identifier, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your interactions with the ads, and technical diagnostics about the device and the ad request. Google uses this to show and measure ads, limit how often you see them, and prevent fraud and abuse. Your study answers and your voice are never shared with the ad network.
Where the law requires consent — such as in the EEA and the UK — Oathpal shows a Google-certified consent form (Google’s User Messaging Platform) the first time you open the app, and on devices that ask it, you are also asked whether the app may track you across apps. Personalised ads are shown only if you agree; otherwise you see non-personalised ads. A “Privacy options” control in the app’s Settings lets you review or change your consent at any time, and you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device’s settings.
How Google handles this data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and its advertising terms (business.safety.google/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
7. Purchases
If you choose to remove ads, the purchase is sold and billed by the app store you installed Oathpal from, under its own terms and privacy policy. The store handles payment; Navritto never sees or stores your payment details, and we run no server to process or track purchases.
8. Legal basis (EEA / UK)
For users in the EEA and the UK: where ads are personalised, our and Google’s legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Where ads are non-personalised, the basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in funding a free app while keeping data to the minimum an ad needs. Running the app itself involves no personal data.
9. Who the data is shared with
The only third party we involve is Google, which provides the AdMob advertising and the consent form. Navritto does not receive your advertising identifier or location — only aggregated, anonymised ad statistics — and we do not sell your personal data. The app store you installed Oathpal from handles any purchase and may separately collect installs and diagnostics under its own privacy policy, and your device's speech service may process your voice as described above.
10. International transfers
Google is a global provider and may process advertising data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google states that it relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and related safeguards for such transfers.
11. Retention and deletion
Navritto stores no personal data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. Advertising data is held by Google for the periods set out in its privacy policy; you can manage or delete ad data in your Google account (myadcenter.google.com).
- Change or withdraw your ad-consent choice at any time from the app’s Settings.
- Review or revoke tracking, microphone or notification permission, and reset the advertising identifier, in your device’s settings.
- Reset your study progress from within the app.
- Uninstalling Oathpal removes the app and everything it stored on the device.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR (EEA/UK), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and US state privacy laws — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, and to withdraw consent. Because Navritto holds no personal data about you, exercise these rights over advertising data through Google (myadcenter.google.com); for anything else, write to info@navritto.com.
You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority — for example your supervisory authority in the EEA (Article 77 GDPR), the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or the Data Protection Board of India.
13. Children’s privacy
Oathpal is a general-audience study app for adults preparing for the citizenship test and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the advertising is never based on your study answers.
14. Security
Your study data is protected by the same platform security that protects the rest of your device’s storage, including device encryption. It is never transmitted; only the ad request and a purchase go online, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
15. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a revised “last updated” date. Material changes will be described clearly.
16. Contact
