It was Spirit Week at school, and Jordan could hardly wait. Every day had a silly new theme.

Monday was Pajama Day. Tuesday was Crazy Hair Day. And there was a fun surprise coming each day after that!

On Pajama Day, everyone wore their comfiest pj’s to school. Jordan wore his dinosaur pajamas and his fuzzy slippers.

The class read stories together on the soft carpet. Learning in your pajamas was the coziest thing ever.

On Crazy Hair Day, the kids came in with the wildest hair. Some had big spikes. Some had bright colors.

That morning, Jordan’s mom helped him make his hair stand straight up. She clipped in a whole rainbow of little clips.

Then came Wacky Hat Day. But oh no — Jordan forgot to bring a hat!

Everyone else had a funny one. Jordan touched his plain head and felt a little left out.

But Jordan did not give up. He dug in his backpack and found paper, tape, and colored pencils.

Snip, fold, and tape! He built a silly hat all his own, covered in doodles, with a little paper flag on top.

Jordan’s homemade hat was the wackiest, most creative one in the whole class! Everyone loved it, and he won the ribbon for “Most Original.”

Being ready is good, Jordan learned. But being creative is even better.
