These are the terms of use for the Helvetalk app (identifier com.helvetalk.app), published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited. How the app handles your data is set out in its privacy policy.
What this is
Helvetalk is a study app for your phone, published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited (“Navritto”, “we”). It helps you prepare for the fide language test — speaking, listening, reading and writing — with practice tasks built on everyday Swiss situations, full mock exams, and a study section, in German, French or Italian. It needs no account.
By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install or use it. They sit alongside the app's privacy policy and the terms of the app store you installed it from.
Not a government service, and not the official test
Helvetalk is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to fide, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) or any Swiss authority, cantonal office or official. The fide test is administered only through the official fide process. Using Helvetalk produces no certificate, result, language level or official status, and has no effect on any permit or naturalisation application.
Only the official fide test decides your language level, and the cantonal authorities decide which level you need for your situation. Helvetalk does not provide legal or immigration advice; for advice about your own case, consult a qualified professional or the competent authority.
No guarantee of a result
Studying with Helvetalk does not guarantee that you will pass the fide test or reach any particular level — that is decided by the official test on its own criteria. The feedback the app gives you (such as how long and how freely you spoke) is a practice aid, not an assessment of your level, and the app deliberately shows no pronunciation score and no predicted level. We work to make the practice material realistic and accurate, but we cannot guarantee it matches the test you sit, so treat the app as practice and confirm anything important through official fide sources.
How the app is paid for, and that this can change
Helvetalk is free to start, and an optional subscription (“Helvetalk Pro”) unlocks all the scenarios, mock exams and study material — in all three test languages at once, with no advertising either way. The subscription is offered on a monthly, quarterly or yearly plan (the yearly plan may include a free trial for eligible new users); it is sold and billed by the app store you installed from, renews automatically unless cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time in your app store account. Navritto runs no server to process or validate it — the app store on your device is the source of truth, and you can restore a purchase from the app. How the app is funded may change in future; any such change would arrive in a future version and be described at the time.
Your practice is yours
Your progress, and the recordings and transcripts you make, are yours and stay on your device. Navritto claims no ownership of them and does not receive them — the app does not upload your practice data or your voice. The only connection the app makes is to the app store's billing service, to check or complete the optional subscription.
Using it fairly
You are free to use Helvetalk to prepare for yourself. What we ask is that you use the app itself fairly: please do not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse-engineer it, and do not misuse it or use it to break the law. The app itself — its software, design, name, practice material and the way its content is organised — belongs to Navritto or is used by us under licence. Installing the app gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it on your own devices.
Availability
Helvetalk works offline and needs no connection to practise. Buying, restoring or checking the optional subscription needs a connection. We may stop updating the app, or remove it from the app store, at any time and without notice. If we do, a copy already installed on your phone keeps working under the terms it came with.
What we are responsible for
Helvetalk is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to make it reliable and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will be free of faults, available at all times, or that every task, model answer or fact is complete and up to date at the moment you use it. Always verify anything that matters through official fide sources.
To the extent the law allows, Navritto is not liable for a test result, a permit or naturalisation outcome, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms removes or limits anything that cannot lawfully be removed or limited — including any warranty implied by law and your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, where Navritto is registered. If you use the app as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will change the date above and publish the new version at this address before it takes effect; continuing to use the app after that means you accept the change.

The other documents
How Helvetalk handles data is set out separately in its privacy policy, which you can open from the app's page. In short: the app collects nothing, has no ads or analytics, and never uploads your practice data, recordings or voice — everything stays on your device, and the only connection is to the app store's billing service for the optional subscription. These terms and that policy are meant to be read together.
