This policy covers the Android app Namelark (package app.namelark.babynames), published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited. It is separate from the privacy policy for navritto.com, which covers the website.
In short: Namelark does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking software, on either Android or iOS. Every name is bundled inside the app and it makes no network connections at all, so it is technically incapable of sending your searches, your shortlist, or anything else off your device. Everything Namelark does stays on your phone.
1. Information we collect
None. We do not collect, receive, or store any personal or device information.
Specifically, Namelark does not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account identifier
- Location data
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or usage analytics
- The names you search for, filter by, or save to your Jar
- Crash logs or diagnostic reports sent to us
Navritto Solutions Private Limited operates no server, no database, and no means of receiving data from this app.
2. Permissions and network access
No permissions requested
Namelark asks for nothing from your device — no camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage access. On Android it declares no permissions of any kind in its manifest.
No internet access
On Android, Namelark does not declare the internet permission, so the operating system blocks any network access. On every platform the app makes no network connections at all — the entire catalogue of names ships inside the app, so there is nothing to fetch and no server to talk to. This is a technical guarantee, not merely a promise, that nothing you do in the app is uploaded anywhere.
3. What is stored on your device
Your Jar (shortlist)
The names you save are kept locally, in the app’s own storage on your device, so your shortlist is still there when you reopen the app. It never leaves the device. When you use the app’s share action to send your Jar to someone, you choose the recipient and the app you send it through; nothing is shared until you do.
Your preferences
Your chosen language (English or हिंदी) and how you sort your Jar are saved locally on your device. They contain no personal information and never leave the device.
4. Third-party services
Namelark contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting software development kits, on either platform.
Google Play and the Apple App Store, as the distribution platforms, may collect information such as installs, uninstalls, and — if you opt in on your device — crash reports. That collection is governed by Google’s and Apple’s own privacy policies, not by this one, and Navritto Solutions Private Limited receives only anonymised, aggregated statistics through their consoles.
5. Children’s privacy
Namelark is a general-audience app for parents. Because it collects no data whatsoever, it collects no data from children. It is not directed at children under 13 and contains no advertising, in-app purchases, or social features.
6. Your control and data deletion
Because no data is ever collected from you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of what the app stores on your device:
- Remove any name from your Jar at any time inside the app.
- Switch the app’s language whenever you like from the Me tab.
- Uninstalling Namelark removes the app together with your Jar and your saved preferences.
7. Security
Your Jar and preferences are protected by the same platform security that protects the rest of your device storage, including device encryption when you have a screen lock enabled. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no data in transit to intercept and no remote database to breach.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a revised “last updated” date. Material changes — for example, the introduction of any feature that transmits data — will be described clearly.
