Scanleaf Terms of Use

What this is

Scanleaf is a free document-scanner app for Android, published by Navritto Solutions Private Limited (“Navritto”, “we”). It captures a page, straightens it, reads the text on it and builds a PDF you can search — all on your own phone. It needs no account.

By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install or use it. They sit alongside the app's privacy policy and Google Play's own terms.

What it is not

Scanleaf is a simple scanning tool, not a professional imaging or document-management service. What you can capture depends on your own phone and, for the camera scanner, on Google Play services being present — on a device without it you can still import photos and turn them into PDFs. Treat the app as one tool among the ones you use, not as a guarantee of a particular result.

How the app is paid for, and that this can change

Scanleaf is free to download and use. It is paid for by a single banner advertisement shown on the library screen, supplied by Google AdMob; there are no full-screen ads, and none while you scan, edit or save. How the app handles advertising data — and the choices you have over it, including consent where the law requires it — is set out in the privacy policy.

How the app is funded may change in future — for example we may offer a one-time purchase or a subscription to remove the ad or unlock extra features. Any such change would arrive in a future version and would be described at the time; a copy you have already installed keeps working under the terms it came with.

Your scans are yours

The documents you scan with Scanleaf are yours. Navritto claims no ownership of them and takes no licence over them — we gain no right to use, copy or show them, and we never receive them: capture, text recognition, PDF building and search all happen on your device, and your scans are not uploaded to us or anyone else. The advertisement shown in the app has no access to your documents or the text in them.

You are responsible for what you scan. That includes scanning only documents you are entitled to, having any consent or permission the law where you are requires, and using what you scan lawfully. Scanleaf is only the tool; how you use it is up to you.

Using it fairly

You are free to use Scanleaf for your own scanning — personal or work — and to do whatever you like with the files you make. What we ask is that you use the app itself fairly: please do not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse-engineer it, do not interfere with the advertising that funds it, and do not misuse the app or use it to break the law.

The app itself — its software, design and name — belongs to Navritto or is used by us under licence. Installing it gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app on your own devices. That right covers the app, not your scans, which remain yours as described above.

Availability

Scanning and everything you have already saved work offline; a connection is used only to load the banner ad. We may stop updating the app, or remove it from Google Play, at any time and without notice. If we do, a copy already installed on your phone keeps working.

What we are responsible for

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to make it reliable, but we cannot promise that it will be free of faults, available at all times, or that it will capture or recognise text exactly as you expect on every device and every document. Your scans live in the app's private storage and are removed if you uninstall it, so keep your own exported copies of anything that matters — Settings has “Export all documents” for that.

To the extent the law allows, Navritto is not liable for lost scans, or for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms removes or limits anything that cannot lawfully be removed or limited — including any warranty implied by law and your mandatory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, where Navritto is registered. If you use the app as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the date above and publish the new version at this address before it takes effect; continuing to use the app after that means you accept the change.
