Frame the shot with one shape filling the screen and the other in a window you can move — tap to swap which one is large. Then press record once, or take a photo and get both shapes from the one frame.
Both videos are written as you shoot, not exported afterwards — up to 4K with HDR where your phone supports it. Watch either shape and trim the ends before you keep it; everything lands in your gallery under DCIM/Creator Cam.
Send the landscape version to YouTube and the portrait version to Shorts, Reels or TikTok. No cropping by hand, no filming the same piece to camera twice.
What's inside
Press record once and both videos are written at the same time — a landscape 16:9 and a portrait 9:16. They are on the phone the moment you press stop, with no export step and nothing to crop afterwards. You can watch either shape and trim the ends before you keep it, and every take lives in a library inside the app so an old one is easy to find.
Most dual-format workflows crop a portrait clip out of a landscape one, which leaves one of the two a zoomed-in compromise. Creator Cam frames each shape properly — the landscape video gets the full width of your shot, the portrait video gets the full height — so they look like you filmed them separately, not like one was cut down from the other.
Photos work exactly like the video: one tap gives you the landscape shot and the portrait shot from the same moment, each framed for its own shape rather than cropped from the other — so a single press covers your feed post and your story.
Creator Cam records up to 4K on phones that can feed it and 1080p everywhere else, with HDR on cameras that offer it, and sound in both shapes, in sync, ready to edit the moment you stop. Available resolution, HDR and frame rate depend on your device's camera.
A built-in teleprompter scrolls your script over the viewfinder at your reading pace, and time-lapse records at 5×, 15× or 30×. Everything is automatic until you decide otherwise — then take over ISO, shutter and white balance, use the exposure slider, and tap to lock focus and exposure. Zebra stripes, focus peaking, a level guide, a framing grid, a self-timer, tap-to-focus, pinch-zoom and external-mic support are all there as on-screen aids, never saved into your videos.
Creator Cam is free and funded by ads from Google AdMob. A full-screen ad can appear after you save a video take — never while you are recording, and never when you take a photo — spaced several saves and a few minutes apart, and you can watch a short rewarded video in Settings to remove ads for 24 hours. Your videos and photos are never uploaded: the app goes online only to fetch the ad, there is no account and no analytics, and where the law requires it you are asked to consent to ads first.
A creator who publishes a long-form video and a short clip of the same piece normally has two bad options: film the whole thing twice, or crop a vertical clip out of the horizontal one and accept a zoomed-in, softer result. Creator Cam removes the choice: one take produces both shapes as finished videos, so the landscape and portrait versions are siblings rather than one being a downgrade of the other — and photos work the same way, giving you both shapes from a single tap.
